May 18, 2018

Right off the plane, then onto a bus and then onto a beautiful boat to the city of Venice. The year long wait was finally over. The Bullets have arrived. We were greeted by our amazing tourguide Leonardo and given a quick rundown(mostly in English of course).

Once in Venice, we were astounded by nice restaurant after restaurant off of the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Gelato places and various small stores surrounded the streets that bordered the beautiful canals that acted as roads. Gondola(small boat) rides were at a premium and a few of us Bullets were able to take advantage of the unique mode of transportation. This once in a lifetime experience was extremely special as we were able to explore the city of Venice on our own after an outstanding lunch where a few of us actually figured out how to order food somewhat in Italian.

Fighting the jet lag as hard as possible, the Bullets moved the party over to the city of Ferrara at about 5pm Italian time. We were able to see how different the two cities are. Venice being narrow and compact while Ferrara is more spread out. Our final meal was amazing yet again as Evan Czulada showed the team his love of tomatoes. It was a wonderful first day and we’re all looking forward to the rest of our trip.
